Because Google also prefers a website that loads under three seconds. If your website takes more than three seconds then don’t worry. Because today in this article I will show you how to configure W3 total cache plugin to boost up WordPress website speed.
W3 Total Cache
W3 Total Cache is one most usable WordPress cache plugin. It improves your Website SEO and Users experience for your visitors. Its free caching plugin comes with too many features to improves your website load time.
It also supports Content Network Delivery (CDN). CDN also improves Your website load time. there is too many CDN to use for your website.
You can have both premium and free CDN service but unfortunately, we only gonna have one the best free CDN service from Cloudflare.
Installing and configuring W3 Total caching plugin.
Login to your WordPress website dashboard and click on plugins and Add New.
Once you have searched for W3 Total Cache then go ahead install and activate it.
the installation has done now let’s configure some the essailtionl setting to increase website speed.
This is what you gonna get after clinking on general settings. First, Enable page Cache. And then select Disk Enhanced from page cache method.
If your server got Mem cached or Redis that well and good. They are much faster than Disk Enhanced. otherwise just select Disk Enhanced.
Now Scroll down and uncheck Minify. we will enable it back later.
the opcode cache, Nowadays a lot of shared hosting itself offers Opcode. if you do not have then leave it as not available.
Disable database Cache and Object Cache.
you need to enable Browser Cache. So check Enable and scroll down.
If you have purchased any of CDN Then go ahead Check Enable and choose CDN that you have purchased.
Or If you Don’t have purchased CDN then you better keep it Disable.
Coming to miscellaneous you can enable Google page speed widget and you can enter page speed API key. To get API key visit API console. Follow the instruction to get API key. This is not necessary. But just optional to get page seed to watch at the admin bar.
If you want to enable Google page Speed then You need to enable Show page rating in admin bar and Verify rewrite rules.
Disable Anonymously tack usage to improve product quality. And now scroll down and click on Save all settings.
Now let’s move to Page Cache and make some changes over there.
First of all, Enable Cache front page and Cache SSL. Remember Enable Cache SLL (Https) requests. only if you got SSL from your Hosting company. If you do not have SLL then Uncheck it. And also Uncheck Don’t cache pages for logged in users.
scroll down to the Advanced and Enable Compatibility mode. Leave rest of all things to default now Click on save all Settings.
Now let’s move to Browser Cache and make some changes.
You need to Enable all available option that you see in Browser Cache. And also You need to Enable Set Last-Modified header, Set expires header, Set cache control header, Set entity tag(ETag), Set W3 Total Cache header.
And also Enable HTTP (Gzip) Compression and also You need to enable Don’t set cookies for static files.
Before you enable (Enable HTTP Gzip compression) you need to make sure that your server support that feature.
Once you enabled all these options shown in the Screenshot. you need to enable all option under CSS & JS. also all option under HTML & SML also go ahead and enable all available option under Media & other files under browser cache.
After enabling all options On Browser Cache simply clicks on Save all Settings.
Great! Now let’s back to General settings to enable Minify Settings. At the start of this article, I told you to keep disable Minify. Now let’s move and enable it.
Click on General settings of W3 Total Cache and scroll down under minify enable minify and keep auto Minify mode.
Enable Rewrite URL Structure under General setting.
Scroll down to HTML & XML Enable don’t minify feeds and also enable line break removal.
JS, Enable JS Minify settings and also on Operations in areas.

after: Non-blocking using “async”
Scroll down to SCC. keep it Enable.
Empty the page cache and also Empty the minify cache. Once you have done that visit your website using the different browser to check everything is working fine.
In case your website collapse after using minify settings. To make your website good again you need to change a few settings.
This problem may cause because of JS minification or the CSS minification. If you see some settings of your website collapse. Clink on Minify under W3 total Disable CSS.
If you still got the problem then you must disable JS under minify tab. Or you can also disable minify under General settings. But there are fewer chances that you will get the problem with JS or CSS.
